SCSEP PROGRAM (SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
SCSEP provides job skills training for low income seniors age 55 and over. Eligible seniors are placed in part time non-profit agencies to provide on the job experience and an opportunity to re-enter the job market. Some enrollees are hired by their Host Site while others may be moved to another Host Site to acquire additional work skills. Salary is paid to the participant by the SCSEP Program. The ultimate goal is to provide unsubsidized employment for the participant.
Current annual income guidelines is 125% of federal poverty guidelines:
The Senior Employment Service Program provides information and referrals to various federal, state and local employment programs for the age 55 and over population. Services include screening, written referral, assistance with resume, job search instruction and current information on training. Program staff who are members of the local IllinoisEmployment & TrainingCenter coordinate job search skills training workshops throughout the program year.
